Hi All

The year is rapidly coming to a close. With the long period between Christmas Mayhem (05/12/2009) and Jan Mayhem (TBA) we use that break to work on Mayhem, we repair cables and tables and everything else, but this year we want to spend a little time working on Mayhem as a whole. The place to start with any work is to define objective. So with that in mind we want your feedback about our event, why you come to Mayhem, why you don't and what would change that.

First off let me tell you what we think about Mayhem from a staff point of view, what we think we're doing right and wrong, feel free to correct us :

Good

The Mayhem culture - In the last 2 years we've paid particular attention to the culture that exists at Mayhem, its loud, its raucous, its fun and we like it.
Fun comps - This year in particular we've been running fun comps, for the ladies, for the dota players, for the Q3 players, whoever wanted a comp, we ran one. We've used The Lair for most of our comps and we would love feedback on them as well and their involvement with Mayhem.
Expansion of gaming repertoire - In the last year Mayhem has embraced formally Warhammer, board gaming and even held a paintball event.
Heat - From what we can tell the heat problem has gotten better this year. Let us know.
Gigabit network - We've added 3 groups with full gigabit. If you've used this and noticed, let us know. This will help us determine if we are going to move the entire event to gigabit.

Bad

Parking - We feel that parking for some reason this year has been somewhat broken. Please feedback to us if this has been a problem to you, or has it in anyway ruined your Mayhem experience.
Not so great comp prizes - I've personally gotten the feeling that our prizes have been a little lack luster. Has this made a difference to you entering or attending Mayhem comps? If so please let us know.

Other things we need you to tell us as our customer

Has the Mayhem staff compliment met your usual expectation of service? - if not, let rip. Mayhem is end of the day a service and if you aren't happy with the people running it, let us know. On the other hand if we've met or exceeded your expectation, it'll make us feel warm and fuzzy if you would say so. This particular question is very important to us so let us know.
Is the Mayhem LAN fun and exciting, do you look forward to the date? - Is Mayhem marked on your calendar in advance or are we not as much fun as you thought or previously experienced?
General comments, tell us what you like and don't over and above what is mentioned above

Its been a great year all in all but next year will be better, let us know what you want from Mayhem and how we can make your event better. Hope to see you at our last 3 events for 2009!

Thank you
Mayhem staff

My 10c worth.

Gigabit network:
I connected on the gig groups at three Mayhem events now. I have not noticed a difference when gaming as the gaming side of things does not need much more than 100mbps. However I have noticed a huge improvement while transfering file copies and such. I do however believe there is still a lot that can be done to improve things further.

Heat:
Yes the fans have helped but I would not say that Mayhem has solved the heat problem. We need to look at improving things even more.

Mayhem dates are added to my calendar months in advance, i cannot wait to get together with friends and family at Mayhem. The gaming and the downloads are fantastic.

Keep up the great work..

PS: Have you guys tried to start a Facebook, Twitter or "The Grid" following to promote Mayhem exclusively?

there is a facebook group called Mayhem gaming events.
It is not being used effectively, this we need to work on.
We have issues updating it as most of us are blocked from accessing facebook while at work.
