Apple has unveiled a new MacBook, Mac mini and iMac, and introduced a new multi-touch Magic Mouse, as it seeks to win over consumers in the run-up to Christmas.

The product refresh comes just a day after Apple announced record profits, selling more than three million Mac computers in the last quarter, up 17 per cent on the same period last year. Phil Schiller, Apple's vice president of worldwide product marketing, said Apple had wanted to ensure its new computers were available in time for the "holiday season".

The new 13in white MacBook features curved lines, a backlit display and multi-touch trackpad. It has the same amount of memory as the white MacBook but a bigger hard drive – 250GB compared with 160GB on the previous model – and will cost £50 more at £799. The new Mac Mini has a faster processor and more storage for an unchanged price of £499.
